E55 vs E63 (or CLS?)

It's strange I find the active seats in the E63 to be so comfortable. Just been on a 700mile round trip and they were fantastic. They got more comfortable as the journey went on. I prefer the interior of the 63 also to that of the classy 55 but it was classy in its day. I find the suspension to be perfect in comfort mode. Sport and sport plus that little bit more road feel. Ok for when going at it. I don't find the 63 to be more crashy at all intact I will go as far to say it's even more isolated than that of the 55. I don't get any interior rattles at all. Only for the exhaust note now and again the interior noise is minimal. Like I said I find the rpm/ mph to suit the 63 on a long motorway journey. The rpm sits way lower at crusing speeds than the 55 did. I also don't get this so called Panaramic roof rattle that I have read. For me the 63 shell in a w212 is as good as a w211. The only negative for me is the suspension settings in sport mode are more road feeling than that of the 55. I put that down to the bigger wheels and the w212 doesn't have front air suspension. But it handles far better than the 55. So it's better in one way not so in another. I have always preferd the interior in size of the E to that of the CLS. Feels tight and cramped to me headroom rear is also restricted. As is rear visibility compared to the E. Again I also prefer the shape of the E.

It isn't. My 211 is the same.
Maybe Tom's had a different s/c pulley and map that would make a difference.
My CLS55 runs about 2k at 70. Pulley and map won't change that. Mph/rpm is determined by gearbox and rear diff ratios. Easily changed on a bike by changing rear sprocket, not so on a car.

I was clutching at straws there:D
Of course you are correct.
I didn't think the gearbox and diff ratios were any different on the CLS55 and E55:dk:

I also loved on the E55k you could raise the car to different heights using the raise function. The 55 is like a flying carpet it has to be said. An amazing car in so many ways.

Regarding the rpm the 63 does cruise at a lower rpm speed than that of the 55 but must be a gearing factor. The 55 being a 5 speed. The 63 a 7 speed. Both amazing cars in my experiences.

I fancied something that more modern. And I have achieved that in my eyes with the 6.2. It's not to everyone's taste like the 55 isn't. Overall like many have said. Owning either will be and has been a pleasure and I feel privileged to have done so. The 55 will always have a close place in my heart.
