E63 - ContiSport5P vs Sport Maxx RT vs PZero

Thanks for all the input guys :thumb:

Must admit that I hadn't considered the Eagle Asymmetric F1's, so will give those some consideration too. Yamaman's comments notwithstanding, I'm still leaning towards the Sport Maxx RT's but the Eagle Asymmetric is an interesting alternative.

So in summary, I'm not really any the wiser, but I am better informed!

I ran Assymmetric 2's on my previous car. They were markedly quieter than my previous Conti SC3's.

I'll be looking for them again come tyre change time.

I recall there was a size availability issue at the time though.

The correct sizes for the E63 are listed as being available on the Goodyear website, but none of the major discount stockists list the rears which suggests that it may be an order job from a local supplier.

What kind of mileage do the rears hold on for?

I killed two sets of rear tyres inside a year after purchasing a CLK55.

One year?? That's driving like Miss Daisy then :D

:D

That year was approx 9K miles long.
You know its not good when the tyre place remembers you from 5 months ago and says so :o

I put a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx RT on our C Class a few weeks back, they are quiet and grip well in the wet ... very happy with them so far. Sadly I can't comment on what traction off the line with 700 bhp is like though :D

I took them over Contis as they had better ratings for noise and wet grip.
