Hi all, does anyone know why I cant activate the Easy Entry system on my 2003 E240 saloon.
It was working fine until I serviced the car the other day and I reset the service reminder, not sure if I switched something off by mistake.
I can get into the sub menu for Convenience settings and the Easy Entry menu which states its Off, I scroll down to the Seat & Col setting but nothing I press alters the setting to On !
Any help would be most grateful

This happened to me when I took my car in to get something sorted. I have only just got it working again, hooked it up to the STAR machine and normalised the driver's seat.

Try pushing the seat all the way back, then all the way forward (like the window rested procedure). If that does not work, then use the STAR machine.

Okay thanks I'll give it a try later, by the way I keep hearing about the Star machine, what is it exactly and is it something I can purchase my self.

It's the Mercedes approved diagnostic reader.

That's about my extent of knowledge other than from posts I have read other diagnostic readers seem to fall short at times in reading the fault codes.

If I'm wrong someone will put you right quite soon.

Okay thanks, had a look on ebay but decided that was a bad idea!! :thumb:

Yeah, it's very expensive for a genuine system. Even the Chinese clone STAR system I bought was expensive but works wonders.

I meant to say "like the window reset procedure".

Tried your suggestion but sadly no difference, unless someone else has any suggestions I'll have to pop along to my nearest specialist. :fail
