As the anti glare liquid in my drivers side mirror has all but drained away, leaving the mirror cloudier than a Scottish summer, I've bitten the bullet and ordered a new replacement from MB. Almost had a seizure when they told me the price, but it had to be done.

Anyhow, is the glass easy to replace? Any special trick or tips to get the old one out without some special clip pinging out and rendering the mirror useless?

Any help would be great :)

Pretty sure it is the same as a number of others.
Angle the mirror glass downward so there is a gap at the top.
You will see a spring clip along the length of the glass. push the end of the clip downwards and into the mirror housing - i.e. to the front of the car.
Pull the mirror glass off from the top - remove the two heater connectors.

Reassembly is the reverse, and is actually simpler because you can actually see what needs to be done :)

Far easier than that, fold the mirror in towards the door , either by its motor or by hand (the spring is strong ), and look inside you will see a small stainless steed catch. Using a thin long straight screwdriver just push it across and the mirror cover will slide off. The rest is easy to see.

Of you could park it on a busy street and let someone knock it out, it worked perfectly the other day… and they didn't stop so I could thank them. Luckily no real damage.

Cheers fellas, it sounds pretty straight forward.
