For all you "IT" gurus out there what would be the best software to use to set up a small web site on NTL using my personal account so that I can show pictures of my cars and family etc and that is easy to set up...
To be honest, you can just do it in MS Word if its just a few simple home pages.
Beginers often chose Front Page because of its familiar format and friendly look but it is flawed and many hosts dont support Front Page extensions.
Personally, I'd recommend Dreamweaver... easy software to get to grips with in the first instance but a powerful tool if you need to do anything clever.
Having said all the above, the 'really clever' web guru's just use a text editor like notepad and write raw code I'm sorry to say that I'm not one of them though.
if you can find a sopy of microsoft publisher that's got some pretty easy to set up web site templates.
It really is a breeze to use but it has a few limits - mainly that it insists on saving all your images as gif files - pretty easy to rectify afterwards using notepad.
Got to agree with Spike, Dreamweaver is the doggies doo dahs

It takes your original images, resizes them as thumbnails and creates a second higher resolution copy for your users to view when they click the thumbnail, creates the photo gallery for you, complete with links from a template you chose and generates all the HTML code for you too!
All you do is set your preferences, press a button and Photoshop goes about it's business. Then you upload the whole lot to NTL.
