Ebay rear parking sensors.

New to me W211 which I'm really enjoying.
The only slight problem is that it doesn't have the rear parking sensors.
I can get a kit off of ebay for next to nothing, and I've used them before to fit to a mates car, which worked fine.
The question is, can I get away with the basic kit or does my car have canbus etc. which will mean spending as much as £25 !!!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum, you have not quoted the year of your car but as it is a 211 then I assume it is 2003 onwards and in which case it will have Canbus fitted. Looks like the piggy bank will get emptied.

One of the cheaper E Bay kits has worked fine on our CL 203 for the past 4 years & was so easy to fit

My dyslexic side urges caution if the ebay listing states No Reverse.

I have fitted basic ki to W211 with no problems!

You will need an additional relay as your car is CANBUS and without it, the sensors will not work. I would by CISBO parking sensors as I have fitted these before to CANBUS systems. The relay you will need is eBay item number:141274040885 and the sensors are eBay item number:141038761146


You complain about spending £25, good job you don't have MB sensors installed, they are £50 each per sensor to replace if faulty!

I fitted a CISBO kit to the back of mine and it works fine
