Hi all , whats the best use of eco mode ? short journeys or long journeys ? I always thought eco was for motorway driving and comfort around town but now totally confused after reading google reviews !!

For mine a non eco-boost engine 9 speed gearbox, eco is best for speeds over 40mph when it coasts, and revs drops to idle revs when foot is off the accelerator.

Doesn't seem to be that much benefit around town, though I think it changes up as early as possible but I feel the engine can labour a tiny bit as the high gear can't quite drive the car along.

On both my Mercedes and Lexus eco mode is so sluggish as to be impractical most of the time.
On motorways though, eco is fine but tbh I don’t really know how much it helps the fuel consumption.
The glide function in eco is good on the Mercedes (Lexus has that covered by turning off the engine and recovering energy to the traction battery.)
