EGR Cleaning

I just spent a good 2 hours replacing the egr valve assembly on my C270 cdi.
Over the past 12 months or so I have spent around 80 quid on various cleaners: Revive, Wynne's egr 3 etc...
The amount of oil and crap in the valve I removed was unbelievable, so much for miracle cleaners!
Conclusion:
Spend 25 quid on eBay for a decent second hand valve, spend an enjoyable afternoon fitting it and the difference is very noticeable!
I was gobsmacked after spending so much on products that clearly don't do what they say they do. Maybe I was expecting too much?
Your thoughts please?

Do the EGR delete mod and you won't have to worry about a clogged up EGR again

Can this be done on a 2008 w221 s class?

Have a look here

There is a different method for CD13 engines and a good thread by Alex Crow on the other side about it

I am not familiar with your engines so you will need to see which one is applicable to you
