Electric Aerial problem

I've had my C180 (1994) for just over five months. I changed the battery the day after I bought it, but it has already worn down. I think it could be because my electric aeriel is not retracting fully into the car (about 10 inches of it is sticking out). Could this mean that the electric motor is trying to retract it continuously and wearing down the battery?

Also. My SRS airbag warning light lights up when the car starts and switches itself off after two or three minutes. Any thoughts?

robert, do a search on aeiral mast, and you will find your answer! - its a replacement mast you need.

As search will normally find the answers to most questions, saves people having to repeat!

SRS - this sounds normal, its a check the airbag controler does when you start the car

What size bateery (Amp/Hour rating) did you fit to your C180 and what make was it? It should still be under waranty so you should be able to get a free replacement battery.

The electric aeriel motor stops after a few seconds and you should be able to hear the winding noise stopping, so this is unlikely to be the cause.
