Hi gang ,

Does anyone know if a Hirschmann Auta 2040 is the correct aerial for the w124 coupe ?

ECP and GSF don't give model numbers ......

I am under the impression that the Auta 2040 is the replacement for the original one ( that is not manufactured anymore under the original part number) ...

Following on from some discussion in [THREAD=33856]this thread[/THREAD] in Spotted on eBay!, I've been looking again at the Hirschmann Web site and I don't see how the 2040 could fit a W124 (even though its installation instructions claim that it is suitable). According to the installation instructions for the kit for mounting the 6000 in a W124, the antenna head angle is 52.5° - but the 2040 can only tilt to 35°. The attached drawing is taken from Fig. 2 in the installation instructions. How can the part that presses up against the inside of the car body (which is important as it provides the antenna's ground plane) fit?
