Hi, The electric drivers headrest on my 1993 e500 isn't working even though I can hear the motor running. Is it just a cable come out, or more seroius than that? Thx.

You need to take the back of the seat off and have a look. It's probably either the white plastic gear wheel casing or the black plastic drive.

Nope - No idea on how to open the rear of the seat. Please advise.

Okay, here goes...
Remove the two screws at the bottom of the seat back. You may have to stand on your head to see them.
Next is the hard bit! The seat back is held in place by the sides of the seat.
Squash the side bolster backwards and gently pry the side out of the seat back. It's difficult to describe it but it basically sits in a groove in the back.
Maybe this picture will help...
The back should then just lift off.
You'll see what I mean about the white & black parts inside the seat.
