Can anyone confirm whether using the emergency key (key insert in the remote unit) is a pure mechanical operation when used to open the drivers door or does it still require the electrical central locking mechanism. The reason for the question is whether it still works when the battery is dead flat.

You can gain access, but need to insert key in Ignition to shut the Alarm up.
