Hi all

Mate of mine has a vito petrol. Failed MOT on emissions too high in all four segments of tests.
I checked the plugs and airfilter, both recent. It seems to run a bit "choky" ish, only used for short journeys. I forgot to tell him to go for an italian tune up before the test but I do trust the tester (IYKWIM).
As it's injected, what "adjustment" can actually be done if any? He's got very little in the way of cash and it only failed on that, cv boot and track rod end...

what year?bit more details about the van not the mate ;)

If it has failed on all elements of the test then something likely amiss in terms of broken lambda / oxygen sensor(s) I would think.

When mine failed on all emissions areas a couple of years ago the garage were honest enough to admit they didn't have the diagnostic equipment and guessing at which sensor was out or what the problem was without plugging it in would be more expensive than just having the diagnosis done somewhere else.

Italian tuneu, fuel cleaners etc very unlikely to help if all readings are out I'm afraid.

grab a multimeter and measure.
