As above, has anyone any experience in this or had it done?

Spotted a post on Facebook for a deal doing it for £80 as opposed to £99 for a short while. Or two cars for £150

Read through their advert and I'm interested in doing it as my car only really gets short runs with a long distance run every now and then

Link to their Facebook page~ https://www.facebook.com/ultimateenginecarbonclean/

They use Hydrogen Gas as opposed to a liquid like the other methods

Should've posted in the engine section I know, but using the app it makes me select a prefix which is greyed, out so had to post in here :thumb:

The BMW / Peugeot / Citroen 1.6 Turbos suffer badly from coking up on the back of the valves and the preferred method to fix is blasting crushed walnut shells at them. Supposedly it is a common problem with direct injection engines. Having the Mini blasted in a few weeks so can provide feedback after that.

Rightly or wrongly I've always thought that using V-Power fuels makes any further cleaning unnecessary.

Wrongly, trouble with direct injection engines is that the fuel doesn't flow over the valves keeping them all nice and clean.

Anyone here tried Terraclean?

They did it on a Jaguar XK8 on Wheeler Dealers with good results.
I know a chap who had a TerraClean done on his XKR and he was very happy. I was going to do it but ran out of time.

I've seen some people complain after having it done as they claim it upsets things. Not sure myself.

I have no website for my graphic design work I run it from my Facebook account, another side business I'm involved in has a proper Facebook page which has done really well, and another clothing business but we have just launched a website for that but all custom has come from Facebook. Times have certainly changed  I find Facebook a lot faster and easier to connect with customers

Some credit to them I've sat and read all their reviews, and the feedback is looking really good

Just wondered if it was a better option to terraclean, or if all the customers were just experiencing a placebo effect

Hi All,

I had terraclean done on my CL55K a couple of years ago and it's been brilliant. I saw the Wheeler Dealer episode and spoke to the company at the NEC (Classic Car show) to talk about the benefits, after a search there was a reputable company which did the process only 7 miles away from me.

The results were amazing:
CO was 0.004 versus MOT test level of 300 (%Vol)
HC was 1 versus MOT test level of 200 (ppm)
Lambda 1

The tester Paul couldn't believe the results especially for a 5.5ltr supercharged lump :D

Not had it done recently but probably will do again, as it's been a couple of years - after this got the other halfs RR Sport done too....with similar improvements seen.

The consumption improved a bit on both but not that noticeable - they both fly through the MOT test now !!

I think the only issues you may get is if the engine is tired or has some issues which the carbon build up is masking, as this process will uncover it.

Other than that all seems good - worked for me anyway

Hope that Helps

The positive / negative impacts of Terraclean on a diesel would be interesting to hear about as I would like to have my C320CDI done but don't wish to have the engine sounding like a bag of nails after all the carbon has been removed.

Also would it have any impact on the CATs after dumping all of the engine crud through them ?

Well according to BP and Shell their premium fuels do keep valves clean?

Also, using premium fuels after the engines has done 100k miles on poor/cheap fuel and is already clogged-up will have limited effect, but using premium fuels from day one will keep the engine clean for years to come.

I know some of the test results were rubbished because the garage that did the tests worked as a test house for Shell but they had two BMW engines one run on Optimax as it was in those days and the other on standard petrol both were new.
The heads were taken off after 100K and the one that was run on Optimax had valves that looked like new whereas the car run on standard fuel looked like you would expect it to.
I just wish I could find it because at the time it totally convinced me to buy Optimax/V-Power in my vehicles.
