Engine diagnostic warning light

Engine diagnostic warning light came on this morning after filling up with petrol? No malfuction message and running fine ? How do I cancel the warning light?

Go to MB or an Indie with STAR.

The light will go out after you have started the engine 2 or 3 times after filling up.

Many Thanks, the light did indeed go out almost 24 hours to the minute after it come on?

Is there an answer as to why this happens?

Had the light come up on starting up the engine one day... the car also had a slight misfire at the time. Went to MB (car was still under warranty), 'we cleared it for your Sir', no one there could tell me what it was or why it came up. Never happened since. So I guess these things just happen and no one is particularly worried about them....
