When i corner fairly hard/fast such as a small roundabout for example and i gently push the throttle i get a whine noise that is in time with the engine so pretty sure its the engine but could be gearbox.....Then as soon as car straightened up no more noise at all....Could this be low fluid level in box or engine?? Any help greatly recieved!! :thumb:

Low fluid in the box can certainly cause a whine, so it's worth checking. While you're at it, check the power steering fluid level as well.

I wonder if its easy to check box fluid levels.......Isnt it expensive to have it replaced??

You can make your own dipstick out of curtain wire, there was a thread about it recently on here, but i cant remember the title, try keying in 'auto dipstick' or similar.

Sounds like power steering whine to me.
Check fluid level in PS reservoir.
The whine is caused by the system drawing in air at low levels.
