Hi

Need some advice, I recently had a fuel filter change at a local garage who is generally very good. After collecting the car immediately noticed the engine was kangaroo hopping under initial acceleration, I took it back and it seemed one the seal o-rings had split. I then took it out havingthis replaced and whilst it was better initially the jump or miss was still there only this time at a higher speed, shortly after the engine management light came on so I took it to Mercedes.

They looked at it at diagnosed it as fault codes as 14B200 and basically some of the pipes and seals and clips weren't all seated correctly, made the fix, engineer management light off, road tested and it was ok. I collected it, and the instant I drove across the forecourt the issue was still there.

I went back in and they said it would need a full diagnostic but without the engineer management light on it was very hard to tell, they said take it home and give it some beans on the motorway to see if pulled through any air etc. Anyway, on the way home it drove perfectly.

I decided to leave it a while when home and take it back out and the problem was back again. At very light acceleration between 1 & 3000 rpm it started to hop again, and now the engineer management light is back on..

I can't get it there until Monday but it's killing my head as before all of this it was absolutely fine!

I'm guessing this isn't a Mercedes specailist? Pretty sure your car has the silly expensive fuel filter with 2 rubber fuel lines and a water sensor? It may be a cheap filter? Failing that they have disturbed something else as the fuel filter is very easy to change and with a in tank pump you won't get any air locks.
