Engine light is on!

OK. This is the second time the engine light has come on in my CLK 200 k.

The engine has covered 57500 miles.

It sounds like a diesel when idling and it generally feels rough all over.

One month ago Mercedes spent nearly £1800 under tire 1 warranty.

I don't understand what could be the problem.

Please advise me if any of you stalwart members have experienced similar symptoms and what is the cure.

Sorry I am not a technical type. They mentioned changing wiring and couple of other bits.

Having read several posts, I knew about and asked if it was the MAF/MAS and they said it was not that.

I don't know what it would be this time.

Could be an air leak somewhere, check all your engine air lines.

It maybe the engine wiring loom if the changed the wiring. They have a tendency to leak oil down the loom from the camshaft actuator and knacker loads of things.

It could be so many things causing your problem. It sounds like a missfire to me but I need more information. Have you got the invoice for the work done?

No. I dont have an invoice as the work was done under warranty and they refused to give me an invoice.

Its going to be difficult to give you any advice without more detailed information. If it is a missfire: Check coils, coil ends, plugs, compression, cylinder leak check, vacuum leak check list goes on..............

I think you have the right to know what work was done to your car from a dealer.

I will pull the dealer (stealer) up on this and get to the bottom of it.
