Engine number on W211

Hi Guys,

Where do I look for the number on the engine block? I looked all round the engine and cuuldn't find it. Is it also stamped on the body frame?

Do I have to remove some panels in order to see it?

I know the engine number as in V5C but I need to verify it. I bought it 6 months ago and I ddin't check it. Now the time.

What have I done wrong? That what I said in my original posts............looking for it on the engine block.

I remember seeing it on the W201 but then on the W211 there are so much stuffs in there, can't even see the engine block. Can see the p/n of the overhead cam though.

Oh, there a lot of cut and shut out there. Paint work so good, you don't realised it done after an accident. Anybody can stick a WIN behind the windscreen.

In older cars, the WIN and engine number are also stamped on the driver door pillar.
