Have recently topped up engine oil in c200 kompressor (2002 model) and now get intermittent red warning saying too much oil and damage could result
if correct how can you drain off oil easily without going back to garage (no mention of this or drain plug locations in handbooks!)
As an aside how many litres are there between min and max marks (for future reference as the handbook again only gives total capacity of whole engine)

Usually the amount between Low & High marks is 1lt. on bigger engines, 1/2lt. on smaller ones. That is what I have experienced anyway.

A dealer will have equipment to suck the oil out rather than drain it. They probably won't charge you for doing it either. Most MB dealers don't drain the oil anymore they suck it out!! (except SL55's and 211 E55's as they have two sump plugs)

Where do you live? I have a portable oil sucker that you I could take out a little oil from you engine for you if you lived near to me.

I am in portsmouth. I will PM you with my number.
