Engine rattle - slight

Seems to quite a bit of rattle... A class 2001 60K miles...

Checked oil - no problems there.

Does it sound internal ?

The timing chains can stretch / wear & give a loud rattle / grating noise

Yep. Internal noise deffo.

Its sort of like a 'tappity' sort of noise.
