EPC Problem

I am not sure if this post will be allowed (Mods please delete if not)

I am attempting to re install my EPC disk to this computer as I need to conduct some research. It has previously worked so I doubt if there is anything wrong with my PC. I have followed the instructions to the letter but when I type in the key it tells me that no key is installed and that there is a serious problem. I have tried doing it with my modem turned off, with firewall and virus scanner dissabled. Tried it when in safe mode, tried just about everything I can think of. It must be something simple, can anyone out there offer help? Thanks.

Have you installed MS service pack 2 since (may not be compatible) you may need to get a patch from MB??

Thanks SEM, sort of got it working. at least it now understands the key
