Error message p2553 Throttle/fuel inhibit circuit range/performance. Can anyone shed any light on what this might be?

Light comes on car drives ok slight loss of performance. Lots of smoke under hard accelaration. The light only comes on after a long run and short stop then start. It is becoming more frequent.

Can you share how you managed to solve your p2553 fault code? Please

Took it to PCS at Horndean. They replaced blocked air filters. Then they had the map on the car interrogated. Found it had been mapped badly before. New map all sorted. Sold car to a friend hasn't missed a beat since.
