ESP and Pre-Safe not available, engine will not start.

ECU doesn't need to be re-set. Buy a MB battery and ask for a discount. The margins are massive. MB batteries are great quality and last a good amount of time, they will fit first time and be 100% correct for your car. You may have an Aux battery.
I can not see an aux battery in the spare wheel well so I'm guessing it does not have one?
What should I pay for a new battery from MB, any idea, part number is A 001 982 81 08

Do I need an AGM battery or a High performance calcium tech battery, my car does not have Stop/Start

I'd get a Mercedes branded battery from the main dealer using the same Part# you quoted earlier. They do seem to last longer and are recommended by the indies that advise the forum.
If you have a commercial Mercedes dealer nearby, get a quote from the Parts dept there. Quite often cheaper than the car parts dept.
You don't need an AGM battery unless the one you have now is an AGM.

Alternatively you can use any of these Type 019 batteries. Varta and Bosch recommended brands.

So I went ahead and ordered a new battery for my car, ordered a 019 battery and it arrived yesterday, took my battery out of the car and went to slot the new one in and it will not fit in the battery tray, way too big, measures 353mm long, the one that came out is only 310mm long. I have now scoured the internet and can not find the correct size battery with the correct Amps anywhere, does that mean Genuine MB only?

Something not right here,if you have a key less go car,you can switch the car on by pushing the button without putting your foot on the brake ,that has to happen because if you use a diagnostic centre on the car you will need the car on but not going, but you are saying that you can start the car without putting your foot on the brake thats wrong and so I would suggest that the sensor on the brake peddle is always made and that might have finally put up faults, anyway I would look at that sensor first

Very annoying considering the Tayna website itself recommends the 019 battery for your car!

While you’re sourcing the right sized battery, have you tried charging the old battery yet?

If your old one is 14 years old it’s probably due for replacement, but a few hours on a charger will get it going for the short term. A friend will have one.

It's not just Tanya . I got similar results from other search sites. I use a tape measure from now on. 👍 . 353 is the boot size 019, g14 , 315 is the under bonnet size. 115, f21 .
