Looking good, borbet A's on a w126........ so much sexiness!

Its going in next week for complete respray, and with those wheels its going to look good i think.

I was very happy that the 9s fitted the front and no catching at all, that was luck more than anything else...

Are you keeping it the same colour or going darker? Any more pics of the car? :thumb:

The colour is a big ???? I like the thistle green and you dont see it very often on a 500, but i have looked at some colours and really do like met gun metal grey.

Thistle green with chrome

Met gun metal grey would be de-chromed and body coloured

I dont have any more pics but i can do some if you like, when its painted there will be loads of pics

Some more pics would be great!, I've allways liked the look of the sec.
I think it would look ace in gunmetal grey, go for it:thumb:

My w124 is finished in gunmetal metalic, I think it suits them, it's also had a de-chrome, and a de-wood. LOL.

Good to hear you say that I was swaying to gun metal grey and now thats what it will be.

De wooded ?? really

Got any pics

There was a W211 in the carpark at work yesterday. The nicely ground projecting wheelrims looked great..

I never cease to be amazed by the criteria some car features are judged by!:o
I know I'm probably in the minority here as an engineer, but to me function should come at the top of any list.
Tyres are the only contact we have with the road and any change to the effect they have should not be undertaken lightly.
I've done lots of tests with race car tyres on rim widths and tyre sizes and there are many changes that playing with that relationship makes to ride comfort, steering response, lateral and longditudinal grip and drivability near or on the limit.
The fact that you screw with most of those would put me off, add to that the fact that the rims become even more kerb magnetic and the questional legality and it's a big 'no' from me!
How they look is the last thing on my list....not that I'm against different wheels on Mercedes cars as you can see here.

But it should be done for the right reason!

Coool, i like. And i think stretched tyres look great too on the right car. I've no idea how they perform though.
Personally though i live in a place of many kerbs and have to drive over one very gingerly to get into my yard. So it'd be a total no go for me! Too worried about damaging my refurbed wheels.

Do you have any plans to lower your SEC?

I don't know about you but I'm not in the habit of driving against kerbs and have never caught a wheel in my life, (kerb magnet) mmmmm more driving ability maybe. In regards to legal and safety check the rim and tyre chart and the sizes I have are with in the spec, if I decide to thrash my car round a track I might look at changing them for a wider tyre.

The car is already lowered by zender the front bumper is only 5 inches off the floor now will have to look into it when it's painted an see how it looks.
