I pulled up to a set of red traffic lights this morning in the right hand lane.
There were several cars to my left and 1 car in front - a marked police car.
We were sitting patiently waiting for the lights to turn green when the police car started to move off - through the red light. He got halfway across the junction, realised his mistake and stopped. He then realised he was blocking the junction so put on his blue lights and shot off.
Half a mile around the next corner he was stopped at another set of red lights - with the lights off.
Presumably the emergency had been resolved.

It did cheer me up on a Monday morning....

isn't it strange that whenever a police car is caught in traffic, there always seems to be an emergency and on come the blues & twos.

My dad used to be a copper years ago and he told me this was how they got home in a hurry:D

I have seen lots of peple do this recently its almost like they expect the lights to change to green and go even though they are still red.

Knowing him like i did i doubt it very very much, proper old school copper in the sweeney days:D
I remember he got invalided out as he had a crash in an SD1 somehow ended up on its roof.
