Without reading that`as far as i`m aware they`ve used a 3.5 block from the w140

No, they used the M104.992 engine. The .pdf describes the mods to the top end but for some reason not the pistons or bottom end. Interesting none the less.

same procedure as what carlsson did to their 3.6 and the 3.7 was modified slighly more.

Didn't AMG use a diesel crank from the 3.5 ?
