Factory fitted xenon or hids ? s500 2002

Can anyone shed any light..
Have i got xenon or hids or something else..they are factory fitted from new
(2002 s500 w220).
They self level,,and are blue..and its impossible to get inside to have a look.
I'am not looking to change...but dealer said they where xenon and i think they are hids...but not sure..thanks

Looks like a blue tinged halogen globe.
Xenon and hids are same. Both have a seperate ballast box. OE have it clipped to base of light. HV symbol will be on light unit. Also OE unit will be behind a projector lens.

As Bazzle says, Xenon's are a form of HIDs.

The W/V220 S500 and S600 have Xenons as standard, so yours will indeed be Xenons.

For the smaller engined models (incl S430) the Xenons were optional.

I'm guessing you also have headlamp washers? Legally equired for OEM xenons.

They will flicker briefly when switched on.

Now, are they are xenons or bi-xenons?

The W220 has high pressure water jets. They emerge from the bumper when pressing a switch.

yes,,really good ones..I also think the do the wash one at a time..so as not to impair both lights when washing..good eh.
