Backs a lot better thanks although I'm walking like Mr Magoo. :)

I try not to visit this thread too much because it reminds me how I greatly regret not buying this when Alps had it up for sale...

If the times comes, let me know if you decide to sell. :thumb:

I’m not interested in any other than this one pal, Alps did everything to it that I would have done if I didn’t flip cars so quick.

To me, a silver E55K with panoramic roof facelifted is perfection.

SPX, id buy it back if it ever came up for sale... but i think Pats in it for the long haul and its in good hands!

Brutus has been sold too by Gav.....

The new owner was selling him :)

Got inside Left Rear arch all cleaned up today.

Also managed to get the overspray from behind the brake pipes (where they have been sprayed to protect them) cleaned off too.

Pipes in good condition so I'll clean and wax these to protect them when I'm done.

Cleaned off the wheel arch protectors, just have to remove some of the stubborn road tar now before I give these a coat of gel.

The brackets that hold the rear TPMS antennas on have rusted quite a bit so these are coming off for either blasting and painting or replacing.
Bottom plastic nut is very much stuck so rather than force it and break the threaded stud I'll grind the nut off, a lot easier to buy a new nut than sort a sheared stud. ;)

I always wondered what they were! Now I know :)

Got a little bit cleaned up under the car today on the left side.

Cleaned and painted the area shown in post 113 with POR15 in silver.

Cleaned the fuel and brake pipes and the general area that the covers on the left protect, mostly just surface dirt on it.
Quite time consuming though as before you know it your going into every nook and crannie.
It's rewarding though seeing the seam sealer coming back to it's original colour.

Did notice that where the chassis comes down at the front there are a couple of snap in clips where the covers bolt on.
This area had a very slight touch of surface rust on it so I've cleaned it all up, took the loose stuff off and treated it with POR15 in silver.

Cleaned the rear inner wheel arches of the road tar and treated these, one with Meguiars Tyre Gel and one with Trim restorer.
The tyre gel one looks more glossy than the other, will see how they look tomorrow and decide which way to go with these.

A little bit more work done today.

Decided to clean off the Tyre Gel from the wheel arch cover as it was still greasy so went with the Ultimate Black trim restorer instead.

If you look at my post 111 and look closely at the top of the shock mount you will see some marks on the paint around here.
Decided to drop the shocks so that I can get in here, give it a good clean and decontaminate and protect any areas where the paint has come off.

It slightly poorer on the right side as can be seen below.

I'll get this cleaned off then protected with the magic POR15.

Was also looking at the rear sub frame, not too much to take off to remove the 4 sub frame bolts and drop this, I really must resist or I'll have this off for stripping and painting. ;)

I noticed that, Mine is the same, Along with my s211 cdi i had, Brutus funny enough was the best out of them all and that was a 2002 lol

They all rust within those Spots welds, What can look fairly light can be a mess when you start to rub it down. I wonder how many other's out there get missed.

Good work buddy, My Rear subframe could do with coming down and painting at some stage.

It's not too bad at all but worth doing as I have it stripped down anyway, will keep it good for many years to come.

Must resist, just found a new rear subframe on popular auction site for £750...........
