Hi, I'm after some advice and not sure where to post this so I thought here's as good a place as any! I've got a fault on my CLK 55 AMG (W309). This seems to have happened after the ignition key was turned when the engine was already running. Just after this, the engine coolant warning came on, and the fan started playing up. The car has been on the computer and fault code P1999 has come up - can anyone tell me what this indicates? Any advice at all would be great, cheers!

You really need more than a fault code.

Get it on a Star (MB diag equipment) and see what comes up. Most specialists have them.

I doubt its anything to do with the key being turned.

p1999 is a power train code indicating - 'load limit is active'.

as blackc55 says, you really need more than a code. does it return when erased? are there any codes stored in the transmission? is p1999 current? what guided tests did this 'computer' suggest?
