This and that.
So if I decided to build myself a Fault Code Reader from my W124, how would I use it?

Where's the diagnostic port, and where can I find a list of fault codes?

TIA

PJ

PS: I am assuming a 12v LED, a momentary push switch and a couple of connectors is all I'd need...

I could have sworn I'd seen something, but when I did a search here, it didn't come up

Richard, where are those part #'s from?

Those are radio shack (remember Tandy) part numbers from the states.

This is what I ordered from Maplin..... You wont need quite so many LED's or LED holders, I ordered 2 as I wanted one for another project.

can you use this in conjunction with the cs1000 data sheet you put on for Olly for the diagnostics.

Most definitely, I know it works perfectly on my 1991 R129, and allowed me to diagnose my ADS system problems.

This is what a forum is all about.

Hats off to ya.

Your's is no good as you need 3 different colour bananas, otherwise you will not know which one to connect to appropriate socket connection.

I chose yellow to plug into the appropriate socket of the system being tested ie HFM-SFI engine management codes is number 8 socket.

SRS codes is a different number socket etc etc

He's done a black lead, red bannana for signal..
