Apologies if this is wrong section but ..............
Only my second post - dont why I do things like this but Ive only owned my w203 c180k for a week and I bought a fault code scanner.
The scanner says that I have fault codes
4311 Cam communication with engine system is faulty
4312 Cam communication system with engine is faulty or engine temperature is implausible

What does this mean????
Have i bought a dud??

I had been for a 20 mile drive. Came home waited 15 minutes, then started engine and plugged in.

Is my car broken???

Does it not have a letter in front of the code.

I do not recognise the code as you have stated it.

What code reader model and type number are you using ?

I think the code is CAN not CAM. This referes to the control network that interconnects all the modules around the car. Just erase the codes and try it after a few days.

Most cars have several stored codes but after a few sucessful starts they are taken out of the active list and stored for reference.
