I've only had my ML for a couple of weeks.
Last Friday on top of the Yorkshire Dales with 15cm of snow and packed ice in places the Panzer handled great, and it's an auto.
When I saw a dodgy section of track coming up, stopped, selected neutral, ESP deactivated - Low Range selected = no problem.
Thankfully when I bought it, it came with a new set of M&S tyres fitted, however, there's no real answer to solid sheet ice unless you've got chains or studded tyres.
