Hello All

I have a W123 that has started to flood in the backseat footwell after rainfall. I think the water is coming in through a small air inlet, underneath the front passenger seat.

You can see an example photo below… :(

Any ideas on how to fix this? I’m more than a little concerned about electrics!

Thanks in Advance.

In my father's 1998 Passat we just drilled a hole in the floor pan covered it with a bit'o glue and let it all run free. Though somehow I doubt you'll be following that little gem of advice;)

Blocked drain holes next to the bonnet hinges , causing flooding and ingress through grommet holes in the firewall are the well known fault and the most likely cause .

Rusted sunroof cassette with water running down the pillars behind the trim is another possibility .

Thanks Jaymanek/Pontoneer for the advice, appreciated. I have cleared out the drain holes next to bonnet hinges, so hoping that might fix it (no sunroof on this example).

Job-Black-Rat – I’ll resist the temptation to drill but thanks!

Owen
