Floor Mats - Any Recommendations?

When I bought my W203 2 years ago, I bought some new floor mats (it didn't come with any).

The ones I got (not original Mercedes) looked good and looked to be hard wearing. One of the things that attracted me to them was that the driver's mat had a decent "heel pad". Great I thought as this is the bit that takes the hammering. The heel pad (a thicker piece of carpet) however has now come adrift from the mat and it looks awful. I would have been better off having a standard carpet map, as even with the extra wear on the heel area it would have lasted longer!

The mat has not had a hard life (only 10,000 miles) so I will go back to the sellers and see what they say. Not hopeful however, so would appreciate any recommendations. Don't really want to take out a second mortgage for genuine Mercedes mats, but if they might be the best option in the long run, I will consider them.

PS they need to be black.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Buy genuine Mercedes mats. Or buy rubber mats.

On the S211 that I've just sold, the mats were the same from new and the car had done 134k and the heel was just about worn through.

Thanks - I was half expecting that repsonse. Oh well, off to the loan sharks......

I got a new set of MB mats recently for my W203. Great stuff.

They were around £60+ from an MB dealer, but have a look around as they are sometimes available on the Internet for £35-£40.

With regards to the mileage, it's more about how much time you spend in the car, than about the mileage covered. Crawling in busy city traffic will wear the mats even if your progress is slow and the mileage is low.

MB mats simply don't wear and You may find a dealer with a discounted set. As the 203 is no longer current they won't shift many and so will let stock on the shelf go cheaply.

Got my mats from MB from new and still look good after 80,000 miles they look like carpet as opposed to the ones that look like mats

Just checked my ebay history... Benzpartz....sells all sorts of..well,Benzparts.

My 124 is 16 years old and still has its original MB over mats, the only one showing any sign of wear is the drivers and even then it looks pretty good still.

Thanks - I've had a look and they have only got beige at the moment - but I'll drop them an e-mail.
