For Mazza

Its true !

I'm perfectly happy with the 2.0 at the Mo - surprisingly quick . i actually think its quicker to 20 mph than the 2.6 !

Needs a new water pump though and a bit of fettling if you have any free time coming up ?

I'm sure I can fit you in somewhere mate. Bet I could fit a m119 under that bonnet too.:p

Drop it off at the end of the week if you want too.

Cool. I'll give you a shout Monday. No engine swap though !

Yep, straight 5 and 1/3 m104. :D

Hey Simon

new engine is in, looks good

spent a bit of time working on the beast yesterday, a very nice day for it.
A tremendous amount of swearing, good thing i have no neighbours..lol

over tighten bolts, dont you just love it??

anyways, I think I found the reason for the 5 and a 1/3 running..LOL

the engine has been fitted with the evolution exhaust system and obviously couldn't handle the extreme exhaust flow..:D

here are some pictures that speak a thousand words

Notice the massive dent on one of the downpipes, you have to pay AMG prices for this..

there's more..oh yes
check out these exhaust pipe reducers...work of art

and this is what gave me the clue that it was an evolution system, one pipe is connected to the middle box using the standard Mercedes flanges, and the other pipe, is welded on for extra security...I just love it! lol

thats all for now, stay tuned

Well good god man! Call up Mercedes, tell them their doing it wrong!

What you have there clearly is a much superior effort than anything we could think up, I'll bet Haywood and Scott are sh!tting themselves! The way they have seamlessly blended 2 cut's of gate post in is just awesome, took me a while to spot the join. Must flow very well, they needed to put a speed bump in the down pipe to slow the gases.

Remember though, your not an expert unless you wind in every bolt with a 3/4 drive breaker bar. And if in any doubt weld the bugger together too, preferably with a 600amp gasless mig....:D

That's a tough act to follow dude, but I think we might just be able to craft something a little better. Flowmaster's anyone? :thumb:

Bit of work on the ex touring cars today. The vectra runs a modified xe 2.0, she made just shy of 300hp on the dyno yesterday. Track testing on friday, with the laguna as backup. And only got a week to get the evo prepped for rounds 5 and 6 at Mondello park, might get time for a day off after that lot!

Hopefully the Evo can redeem itself this time around. It was very fast at Pembury, just the evo vs DS3 incident that let it down.

Hi dude, these are oval in shape but are the equivalent to 50mm. The air box is much bigger when in the car.

hello mate

if you find an air box in the corner without a home, let me know..lol

cheers

Mazza.

Forgot to say the new exhaust for the turbo diesel should be ready beginning of next month, so we'll have to do some more Porsche baiting!

What are the four 'things' at the base of the engine in this pic?
