So I fitted 12mm spacers allround which looks great.

The only place I could find longer wheel bolts was ebay which I was not sure about. I read the reviews and the company that were selling them states they have been selling them for years without problem.

Anyway I had some new tyres fitted by my trusted tyre supplier and one of the bolts snapped while torquing them up, leaving half the nut stuck inside the hub.

Luckily I have a local AMG tech that lives near me who managed to get it sorted and we then cut some original S Class wheel bolts down and used them.

All sorted now, dont buy the ebay items!

I was thinking about doing this. Post some pics up if you can of how the wheels n tyres sit. I done this on my old e39 m5 and it made the car look so much meaner.

I do not have any decent pics at the mo, only this Iphone pic which kind of shows how far the wheels are out in the arch at the front.

Will take some pics today.

Yeah need some shots from rear of car nice and low down at an angle. 12mm is a reasonable jump. Bet it makes a big difference to the look.

Have run the 12mm for about 4k miles and am happy.

Some more pics for those interested.

In my opinion, it pushes the rear wheels too far out.

Makes it look phatter innit

Get rid of them, they will shoot your rear tyres inner edges at 10 000mi,if you didn't shred them making doughnuts beforehand...

Be honest Gttwo ... Me personally , would never use spacers & cut bolts down on such a powerful car like the C63 ... I dread the thought of one of those wheels shimming or coming off at high speed! .... Be careful mate ... Stick to the 30mph with them spacers & chopped bolts on dude

On another note your car looks the beast! :thumb:

Looks good Gttwo. I have 10mm on the rear of my CLS 55 and it looks far better than stock IMO of course. Have always used spacers on my cars, to get the correct 'stance', BUT always buy H&R hubcentric spacers complete with extended bolts and have NEVER had any issues. I would be dubious of using any 'make shift' items like cut down bolts on any car, let alone something with so many ponies running through the back wheels! Just my 2p worth, that's all.

not my bag, I would be too worried about something going wrong, BUT I did have 5 mm shims on my old E46 M3 with no problems.

Always better to get rims with the correct offset needed for the stance desired.

Insurers may not like the idea either.

If they are hub centric then they will be absolutely fine. Had some on my 580bhp CLS55 for 28k miles with no issues whatsoever. Make sure you buy a reputable brand that are proven as opposed to taking a risk with an unheard of company on EBay. When buying spacers you can also buy the appropriate length and spec of bolt.

If you get 10k miles from a std set up C63 you'd be doing well.....:D

If you get 10,000 miles from a set of rears you should apply to the guiness book of records!!!!
