For Work?

Aren't 609s 6.5 tonne? While most Dailys are 3.5?

Still if people wonder why the UK is littered with Polish trucks the £20k cost for UK operaters might help explain it...

I am amazed if that is the case. I thought the Sprinter replaced that range, and I do not believe any of them are that heavy. Ours is a medium wheelbase hightop 213CDI.

Hopoefully it is not being snobbish to say NO, to the van that Ian has highlighted. Apart from its condition, they are on the big side, and might block driveways, roads etc, plus these vehicles are very noisey, and prone to the good old diesel smoke. If you are working from a van, surely you want it nearby to where you are servicing the vehicle and NOT obstructing someone else's driveway?

Having just come back from the Bank that van is no longer an option :D . I wont need it. Might just invest on a Sprinter or something later, but for now my trusty 260E will suffice and a premisis is on the horizon, getting closer by the minute. I only posted this thread to gauge reaction to what was an idea. Yes it would be too big, yes it is tatty, yes there is not much room inside, yes it would be expensive to run and yes not the right image.

That's a Vario, the range above the Sprinter, so more of a small lorry than a van, they go up to 7.5 tonne so pretty big.

Thanks for that. They were certainly sluggish beast. Does the 09 of 609 still represent hte hp? ie 90bhp?

John

Just found out the 609 is 5600kgs:crazy:
