Free Mercedes world event

&me - many thanks for the spot.

Am at MB World Oct 29th, so will ask then as well if I don't get the email. I wonder if you book an experience you get to jump the queue....

Was at MB World yesterday and asked about this event - apparently they're limited to 10K people and already 40K have registered, so there's to be some kind of lucky dip draw and winners will get an email - don't know when. Staff there are also worried that locals will just turn up. I would not fancy being there with 10K people on site - there were perhaps 500 there yesterday and it was superb, but with 10K it will be ridiculous.

10k Where will they park, let alone walk round the place

I was thinking of that. I assume they'll use some of the other end of Brooklands - near the business park etc. Maybe they'll arrange something with Tesco/M&S etc as it'll be a major disruption to the shopping areas anyway with that many cars/people in the vicinity?

10,000 people doesn't obviously mean that many cars, I assume half or even a third of that amount.

Either way, it's going to be packed with a capital P!

Will

Why not allocate the tickets on a "first come first served" basis.

That is the method used by Renault at their "World Series" weekend at Silverstone earlier this year

Just been notified that I have been successful, whoa 2 tickets 2 weeks in advance by email. :bannana::bannana::thumb::thumb:

Me too, seems it is first come first served, as the email states:

"Thank you for your interest in Powered by Mercedes-Benz Live on 8th November. As one of the first people to register, you have been selected to receive a free ticket to the event. We have had an unprecedented level of interest in this event and thousands of applications for tickets. Due to this high level of demand, and to ensure the fairest distribution possible, we will have to limit the number of tickets for each application to four with only one application per person. "

Just registered - but I expect I am now too late - pity...but fingers crossed.

I broke the news to Mrs D yesterday. I thought she'd be less than keen. But her reaction was: "Did you get my Dad a ticket too? He'd love that."

I was shrewd though - I slipped in pretty early on: "I bet they'll have some GLs we can look at..."

To get there is it quicker to walk from Weybridge or Byfleet & New Haw rail station?
It looks midway between the two:

kt13 0sl - Google Maps

According to this site :-
Route planner - public transport and car journeys | Transport Direct

It's 2.2 miles from Weybridge station, or 1.6 miles from New Haw station.

I'll be driving up and just hoping that I can park nearer than either of them.
Yes, I got my e-mail confirmation and am am now awaiting my e-ticket.

It looks like Byfleet is slightly closer but...

Mercedes-Benz World is very well served by the train network with Byfleet & New Haw and Weybridge stations within walking distance. South West Trains will be adding additional carriages to their scheduled trains and there will be a free shuttle bus from Weybridge station.

On the reserve list, didn't get my app in time then

Dont worry, nearer the time I am sure you will have no problems getting a ticket from one of us, I have 4 tickets confirmed and might only be taking 1 other

Got my email today.......................on the reserve list.... :(

Yay!

Got my tickets confirmed!
