Blimey , that's like the price of a secondhand A class ....

^ thats the problem when these car become 'affordable' 100K + new means the parts / servicing still pricey.

Are there any after market ones you can fit? brembo for example?

I looked for aftermarket for mine.. and for decent makes...NO... Pagid supposedly do them but for a CLK55 and CL55/65 they are not only drilled and grooved but also floating.... Hence the expense...

So £1500 ish before fitting...... Wow !!! There was a full slr set up for about that for sale at one point on 'flea bay'

I remember chatting with of the indies on here a while back about S65's and was told about their hugggggggggge cost for brakes. For what I need, the Biturbo is a good allrounder so nipped the 65 in the bud.

I hope you beat the seller down a bit on the price if they were due for renewal

Yep - i'm happy with the price i've paid and appreciate its not going to be cheap to own - nothing like jumping in at the deepend!!

When I was in Germany a few months ago, and thinking about the next barge, we were driving along the autobahn in a rented E-Class estate, flat out as one does (it would be impolite not to) when an Audi R8 came up behind us so of course we moved over to let him pass. You could hear the noise of that thing even at our speed (>200kph) as it sailed by.

My co-pilot commented words to the effect of "so, what fancy Merc would keep up with that" to which I replied "If we were in a CL65 we could cruise alongside at any speed knowing that we could pull away at any time"

Cue a discussion on CL65's and nasty thoughts about hiding yet another car somewhere around the carpark!

Well done - when do we all get to pay homage to it?

Are you going to swap the wheels for some of the nice titanium ones like we spoke about originally ?
