Front Number Plate Holder

Having front bumper sprayed due to stone chips and as front number plate holder is cracked thought I would replace it. MB want £80 for it so just wondering if there were any cheaper alternatives.

JRH30 - I think you are talking about the main plinth, the price sounds about right, unless you can locate a 2nd hand one I think you will have no option, maybe try and get a discount at your dealership? I had to buy one when I got my 63 front end upgraded and was shocked at the price!

Yes it is the main plinth that the number plate sits on. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet.

As the plate will cover it, even a rough glue job would do surely?

Unfortunately the split is right along the top so plate doesnt cover it.

Oops.

I am pretty sure these Items for Sale | Porsche 944 Turbo S Register Wurth ones will bend nicely……they have on my Vito BUT I did use a pressed aluminium number plate. The whole combo still cheaper than one plinth though!

I had the same issue recently, my bodyshop had a go at fixing it to spray but it couldnt be done. In the end I got one from Mercedes at £100 for W211.

Still nedd to take it to the bodyshop so they can spray it for me.

I glued mine back together and sprayed it to match the car colour.

Bit the bullet and picked it up from MB Guildford today!!
