I can't work out how to remove the number plate from the holder, it is firmly attached to the car (ok I know it's dark but I need to change my plates!) The rear one is just screwed on (I think).

It's a 1999 W202 C Class.

probably stuck on with really strong double sided tape.

Mine was and I wrecked the holder when I pulled the plate off.

Do you need to remove it to change the plate?

If it's like mine, have a look for a couple of thin slots in the holder. Pop a screw driver in and twist.

The fixings for the holder are behind the plate.

That type of holder just uses strong double sided foam tape to hold the plate on.
Use a scraper down the back of the plate to lever it off.

OEM Part Number

Gina2201,

Can you or anyone on this board share with me the Mercedes-Benz OEM Part Number for a front bumper European number plate bracket for a 1998 W202 C Class (i.e. specifically a 1998 C43 AMG)?:dk:

Thanks,

B Spoke

Do you mean item 200 in the second picture?

Odd though... they only list the part numbers for Italy and Switzerland.

Probably best to ask you nearest dealer as they will match the part to your chassis number.

Thanks

Nibbo,

I appreciate your response! :thumb: That’s the part that I’m looking for, but I was hoping to find the part number for a German plate. I’m in the U.S., so a local dealer will unlikely be of any help. :wallbash: Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. :thumb: Keep them coming. I'm hoping that I can find the exact part number, and then I can order the piece here in the states.
