Front suspension arm replacement

After a 14400 mile service, my dealer recommended I have the o/s/f suspension arm replaced as the bushes had worn down.
Apparently the bushes are not replaceable so it's the complete arm.
And it was suggested both o/s and n/s arms to be replaced.
The geometry needs adjusting (laser style) after this "operation" so it's mega-bucks.

Do I really need to replace both arms?
Do I really need a full laser geometry or can I have a normal 4 wheel aligment?

Thanks

I would suggest replacing both at the same time if possible.

Not doing so is a false economy since the partial wear on the other side will accelerate the wear on the new component.

What is the total estimate, and how much of that is labour and how much for the parts? On a 6/7 year old car I doubt I'd be using a main dealer at typically £100/hour for 'additional work' (ie, over and above the minimum required for mobilo validation?)

Personally I'd use genuine MB parts and get them fitted by a reputable specialist :)

Do you mean 144K miles rather than 14400? ;)

I think you will find the bushes are available seperately.

It would be a good idea to have a full 4 wheel setup performed but you will find there is no adjustment so unless the tollerance of the bushes is different then the settings will be the same.

Try these numbers:
210 333 68 14
210 333 55 14

Kit
210 330 04 75
or
210 330 01 75

Will,
Labour was quoted as 5-7 hours, but I need the knuckle joints some other small parts and the brake fluid replacing. With parts and labour it was £1200.

Milages is 144K , you're correct.
