My 55 C220 CDi failed MOT yesterday due to noisy / excessive play near side front wheel bearings.
The vehicle test station, my local branch of a national AA approved service centre, offered to replace said wheel bearings at a cost of 129 pounds (plus the 54 pounds test fee.)
I queried the 129 pounds to replace the wheel bearings and was told that included 2 manhours labour and parts. I gave them the go ahead and collected my car last evening complete with new MOT Certificate and new nsf wheel bearings.
On reflection I beleive 2 manhours to be excessive to replace a W203 front wheel set. Can anyone tell me the official MB time allowed for this task, also the parts cost from the 'stealers'
