Has anyone else noticed that unleaded has jumped 4p since Friday ?

Not even made the news. Is it just accepted nowadays that fuel increase prices are accepted and nobody will bat an eyelid ?

yes:( also diesel has rocketed to before i went on my hols (22 dec)came back last friday and when i filled up it was £1:09 a litre it was only £1:00 before SCANDALOUS:crazy:

So, nothing to do with taxation after all.

I think once we all "got used" to the £1 litre, it would start to rise steadily.. one of the reasons I sold the V8 thirst-mobile.

I had a little bet with myself that we'll see £1.50 a litre within a year. Maybe I'll lose that one, but I reckon there's a real possibility of £1.30 by next Christmas.

Yours pessimistically,

Gaz

Nobody - he got there by default and ran away from an election!

Spent £79 filling the Espace up at the weekend, personal best other than filling up 7.5 ton lorry.

I did :( . Not a nice as yours, maybe, but still a special car. Glad I had it while I had the chance..

Cheers,

I remember when I passed my test nearly 10 years ago.

It cost about £35 to fill up my first car (65p/litre) - a 2.3 litre Volvo 740 GLE tank!

(I still only managed to get 180 miles - my record - out of a tankful!)

Im seriously thinking about getting one of those BMW C1 motorbike/car things.

You know the one with a roof and windscreen wipers?

For me I paid 2 shillings and 7d a gallon, but in the 60's it was 4 gallons for just under £1

For what it's worth, this is all down to the oil companies.

The governments extra fuel duty isn't due until April.
Strange how that always used to be once year on budget day but now it's twice a year in April and October

They get the gold mine, we get the shaft... again.

£1.09/.10 up here in fife for diesel £1.05/.06 for unleaded
£65 to fill the vito
£82,50 to fill the patrol

And tesco have done away with the 5p off when you buy £50 worth of groceries
Stopped that just before chrimbo

As a consequence of this we are now seeing a sharp increase in theft of petrol. Idiots are quite literally drilling through the bottom of the fuel tank and allowing the fuel to pour out. No doubt they will capture a few litres and let the rest drain out onto the road where it will be a huge fire risk.

The sad thing is these oafs are not targetting any specific make of vehicle, it could be a young person who can only just afford to buy a car and they find the fuel tank ruined so need to replace this as well as replace the stolen fuel.

Never mind the insurance will pay!!

Regards
John
