Hi guys
Newbie here, please please can someone help me, I've got a 2007 clk 220cdi, I've had this problem where the ecu light comes on my dash and the car goes into limp mode, I've read the codes and it comes back with p0088 which is meant to be high fuel rail pressure, So I took the car to have an inspection done and a full diagnostics they came back with fuel monitoring issue and was advised that it was either the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, in which I changed both and the fuel rail sensor while I was at it, still no change any ideas??? Any help would be great thanks

You changed the HP pump too?

Was the diagnostics done on a Star?

No not changed the hp pump as when the full test was done it was tested and all is fine and the same for the injectors
Yes it was done on a star diagnostic

The p0088 code was on a DIY machine but when it went in for diagnostics it was done on a star

It very much could be a faulty pump. I have replaced quite a few in the past.

I had a feeling you might say that lol
Only problem I don't want to replace the pump only to find that the problem is still there
I know they are a quid

Ive had a few people look at it now and no one can pin point the problem that's why I turned to the world of knowledge on here

Then I don't think you have much choice then to put a pump on it. Get one from ECP.
