Do we? European prices seem higher, apart from Spain and the Eastern European states.
Which EU countries do you think are cheaper?
France and Italy certainly aren’t cheaper. And, in general, Brits enjoy greater access to Supermarket petrol than is common across the EU.
If anything UK petrol prices seem to be subsidised by overpriced grocery stores and witless purchases of “snacks” and drinks
When I had a place in France, diesel was always quite a bit cheaper at supermarkets, but petrol seemed to be moreYup - Mrs BTB drove 700 miles to Germany on Tuesday and commented that EU prices for fuel seemed about the same as the UK at the moment.

Probably £1.57 or so with the exchange feesLast week in Sicily I paid € 1.80 / Litre (petrol) , What's that ? about £1.50/litre.

Just checked my invoices . Credit card company did it at 1.189 so €40.48 = £34.02 . = no credit card exchange fees. = £1.51 . so not much in it.Probably £1.57 or so with the exchange fees
Its allowed.....the recently opened ASDA in Selsey (Sussex) has a fully auto petrol station....looks odd with no shop or kiosk at all......Where will all those husbands get their wife's flowers when they forget their birthdays!!!?I guess if you have a fully automated filling station (I didn't think this was allowed from a safety POV?) then you have no staff costs and can afford a lower margin.
I seem to recall a few years back in Switzerland there were certain filling stations which were closed on Sundays and/or Ruhetag, but you could still buy fuel at the automated pump. Its allowed.....the recently opened ASDA in Selsey (Sussex) has a fully auto petrol station....looks odd with no shop or kiosk at all......Where will all those husbands get their wife's flowers when they forget their birthdays!!!?

Where did I mention comparing prices to Europe?
Same in France some years back - but only took Carte Bleu (not Disque Bleu as I said in an earlier post!) which was a bugger if you were on fumes!I seem to recall a few years back in Switzerland there were certain filling stations which were closed on Sundays and/or Ruhetag, but you could still buy fuel at the automated pump.
Disque Bleu and petroleum definitely don't mixSame in France some years back - but only took Carte Bleu (not Disque Bleu as I said in an earlier post!) which was a bugger if you were on fumes!
Just a decade ago Brits couldn't use Automated pumps overnight or Sunday in France because our cards couldn't be validated .Same in France some years back - but only took Carte Bleu (not Disque Bleu as I said in an earlier post!) which was a bugger if you were on fumes!
