I have just rebuilt the fuel supply block on the 420SE here is a picture for reference, its looking clean now but soon get grubby up under the rear end of the car

Very nice - those link pipes are stupidly expensive for what they are .
 
Yes about £160 for all 4 pieces buts its done. and the main link pipe was really weakened by rust.
Funnily enough, the pump to pump pipe was Brass on the original but the small rubber connector was shot...
 
Yes new Bosch; pumps, accumulator and filter, new pipework, rubber mounts, check valves, copper washers and SS bolts. Total price a little over £400
 
It started that the shaped pipe was so rusty that it was close to leaking, I needed a new filter and I managed to get an accumulator a while back at a good price.
Not one to do things by halves I decided as I was doing the job to do it all properly, strip it down and clean it all up. in doing so I found one pump was fine but the other was noisy so I changed them both.
I know theses car suffer from high idle and rough idle problems sometimes caused by the accumulator and check valves so now the job is done its one less thing to worry about...:thumb:
