Hi All,
About to attempt this job so was hoping if anyone here has actually done it on a 211.
I see there are a few posts on how to do it on previous versions of the E Class Estate, but can't find any guides for the 211.

If anyone that has done it would be kind enough to offer some words of wisdom, I'd be most appreciative.

For example, does the whole head liner need to come out?
How do you remove the side trims without damaging clips etc?

Any help gratefully received.

I have seen it done on my W201, less than an hour only if you have the proper tool to clamp the springs else dont bother and send it to any garage to get it done. It won't cost you much including the parts.

There's a special tool?
Didn't realise that!!

I'm picking parts up from Stealer later today.

post # 2. Are you not confusing tailgate strut with suspension strut?

Good point.
I'm referring to the gas springs in the tailgate.
