Gearbox or Clutch? Help Please

Hi all,

I have a problem with my C200K 2001 3DR Sport.

Basically, if I start the car in neutral it makes a horrible noise. (The same type of noise, when you accidentally let go of the clutch while changing gear and it gets stuck)

If I put it in any gear it keeps making the same noise and the car won't move.

Does that mean the gearbox has gone? or the clutch has had it?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would say it was the clutch. Take the gearbox out and check it.

Thanks is there any guide on here you can direct me to, on how to remove the gear box and refit?

I would like to do it myself.
